The Library Bag Project came about as an accident. I’ve been an avid reader since I’m a kid. Even though I have a Kindle, and love it, I still prefer the feel of a book in my hands and enjoy roaming the stacks of my local library. Like other avid readers who take out many books at once, I need a bag to carry my treasures and typically walked out with a tattered, plastic food store bag, if they were even available.
I asked one of the librarians why they did not supply tote bags and after a chuckle and a grumble the words “not in the budget” were heard. And…so began the Library Bag Project. As a promotional product and branding expert I wondered how I could provide FREE eco-friendly, reusable tote bags to the library. My idea grew into a call to the community – free tote bags for the library, supported by local community advertising from businesses and services. It’s a win - win all around.
To further our cause, we donate a portion of our proceeds back to our reading community through national reading programs. We hope you will join us in our efforts to bring The Library Bag Project nationwide; community by community, state by state. We encourage local businesses and services to support the importance of their libraries. As of 2015, there are 9,082 public libraries in the United States. Help us reach our goal.
Thank you for your continued support.
